Meaning of “Let no one forget his own duty for…”
Attention to one’s own responsibility is treated as a legitimate boundary: admirable obligations elsewhere do not erase the work that actually belongs to the individual.

Dhammapada 166, Chapter XII “Self,” Max Müller translation; the teaching closes the chapter by returning attention to one’s own discerned duty.
